FFUN SDG and ICC Ukraine start a new collaboration

Kyiv, January 19th 2022

Charity projects and “the European Silk Route” were the topic of discussion

Last Tuesday, the President of the FFUN SGD met the board and some members of the ICC Ukraine. As International Stakeholder Recruiter for Council of Europe Office in Venice, Mr Aronica presented the project “The European Silk Route”. This itinerary is a candidate to become the new cultural route promoted by the Council of Europe. The project aims to be a local cultural network linking cities, regions, museums, and universities. The goal is to enhance knowledge of a shared European cultural heritage and to promote new relationships within Europe through sharing of best practices and cultural tourism activities.

The European Silk Route” will be developed following Marco Polo’s trips. For many European cities, silk manufacturing became - and still is - a great source of wealth that led to greater investments in the textile industry but also in architecture, luxury goods and artistic production. At the end of the 20th century, Ukraine ranked sixth in silk production in Europe.

During the meeting, not only cultural and tourist areas of cooperation were discussed, but also support to charity projects in Ukraine.
The CFSR - Charity Foundation Source of Revival - presented their activities developed in the Kharkiv region. Their aim is to help disadvantaged children and young adults who are at risk of being exploited by illegal employment.

The Profi Corporation presented their project aiming to give a second life to Ukrainian veterans. Through free professional training, the veterans learn how to work in welding production. After the training period, they find a new job not only in Ukraine but also in Poland, Spain, or Belgium. FFUN SDG is ready to start collaborating with these important companies and NGOs to help Ukrainian society.
