NEW PERSPECTIVES FOR SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE BETWEEN ITALY AND KAZAKHSTAN
On August 26, the National Association of Oilseed Processors (NAPMK) welcomed an Italian business delegation led by Maurizio Aronica, President of the Foundation for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (FFUN), a member of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs – Sustainable Development. The meeting took place at the NAPMK office in Almaty.
During the visit, the parties discussed prospects for Italian-Kazakh cooperation in the fields of education and training for agriculture, the development of genetic diversity and breeding of crops, as well as the possibility of organising joint conferences, study visits, and thematic seminars. Special attention was given to the supply of modern Italian equipment for Kazakhstan’s oilseed processing plants.
NAPMK notes that such negotiations open new horizons for the country’s agricultural industry — not only in terms of knowledge exchange and professional capacity building, but also through the introduction of advanced processing technologies, which will strengthen the competitiveness of the national oil and fat sector.
